I am excited about dentistry! Helping people and improving their smiles energizes me. I feel fortunate to be rewarded emotionally every day for what I do, who I help, and who I get to work with. The relationships and friends I’ve made are priceless.
Prior to becoming a dentist, I built a foundation of learning from quality institutions. For high school, I attended the Marmion Academy. I went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1973. I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Kentucky, from which I graduated in 1977.
I constantly attend continuing education courses to stay in tune with the latest that dentistry has to offer. I always incorporate relevant new procedures into my practice. Technology changes constantly, and I feel compelled to keep with it.
Examples of updates in our practice in the last few years are our use of Invisalign® and Lumineers®. These are cosmetic procedures or treatments that can benefit many people. I also attend seminars on implants. This treatment is becoming the treatment of choice for missing teeth, and techniques and technology are changing all the time.
In the Office
I have been practicing dentistry since 1977, and consider my patients and their families my friends. I love getting to know our new patients and catching up with the ones who have been with us for years.
My staff is a lot of fun, and we love to make our practice a great place to be! Every year we have a costume roller-skating party for patients and staff around Halloween. Our office also started Dentist with a Heart, which is a program in which dentists open their office to the needy in the community for one day a year near Valentine’s Day. For these underserved patients, we perform cleanings, X-rays, exams, fillings, and extractions at no charge.
Our staff is special because they really care about our patients. They will do whatever it takes to make our patients comfortable. Our turnover rate with staff is very low. They enjoy working in an environment where they can help make a difference in someone’s health and smile!
Family and Community
I am a native of Aurora, and have lived in Sugar Grove for more than 20 years! My wife Judith and I have three children: Kristin, Heather, and Justin. We also have three grandchildren with whom we love to spend time and spoil! In my spare time, I like to golf and travel. I also coached basketball at Holy Angels Catholic School for 20 years!
I love our community and am proud to be a part of some wonderful organizations here. I am on the boards of directors for Visiting Nurse Association of Fox Valley, Provena Mercy Medical Center, Aurora Fox Valley Notre Dame Club, Fox River Valley Dental Society, and Compassion Foundation. I chaired the capital campaign for the VNA, and am the co-founder of Dentist with a Heart.
